だんだんだん （DAN DAN DAN 1999 oil on canvas 45.5x38.0cm） 色と色を混ぜるとまた別の色が出来る。当たり前す ぎるけど、不思議なことだと思いませんか？もうす でに色の科学は体系づけられていて綺麗な立体色相 環なんかもある。でも、もっともっと実感したい。 絵具と友達になりたい！ ぼくがよく使う絵具２０色から得られる２色の組合 せが全部で１９０通り。それぞれ混色比３段階、さ らに白色混合を３段階という具合で混色実験を行う。 色見本を作るのではなくて、ひとつの絵具から別の 絵具によって引き出される性質を見詰めなおすのが 目的でした。 で、↑これはその１９枚の連作のう ちの１枚。構図は計画せず、パレットも使用せず、 キャンバスの左上の隅から順番に、直接そこで絵具 を混ぜ合わせる。効きの強い絵具、弱い絵具、初め て混ぜる組合せなどもあり、そこに置かれるべき色 を作るために使う絵具の量は一定にはなりませんで した。が、それでかえっていい感じの絵になったよ うに思うのですが、いかがでせう？（またまた讃美） 不揃いの色たちが踊っているようにも見えるし、上 下をひっくり返すと、土の中から植物がだんだん成 長していく姿にも見えるので、「だんだんだん」と 名付けました。 I like oil painting because it enables to go on painting as I feel. But one day, I found I was shut in my habits of using colors or touchs. I couldn't have understood what oil colors are though I'd used them to paint for long time. So I tried switching colors themselves to subject. I got 190 combinations from my favorite 20 colors. I blended every combination in 3 steps , and blended them with white in 3 steps. I could taste properties of each color. (19 canvases were needed. One of them is on the upside↑.This one is the study about Cadmium Red Purple.) I didn't make a composition carefully and didn't use a palet. I blended colors directly on canvases. It let them irregular and humorous. They seemed to be dancing. Turning upside down, they looked plants growing gradually.That's why I named this series of works "DAN DAN DAN". (' Dan-dan ' means gradually in Japanese.) |
