水無月 (Jun. 1998 oil on canvas 91.0x72.7cm) ９８年４月、ぼくは大学生になった。 多摩美術大学絵画学科油画専攻。略して「たまびの あぶら」。「美大生」に対する世間の評価は二分。 「流しに石膏流しちゃって大変だったのよ～。」と かいう大家さんや、「タマビの人はすぐやめるから ちょっと...」という和食レストラン店長さんも。 バイト先ではやっぱりこの質問→「美大ってことは さぁ、ヌードとか描いてるんでしょ？」 答えはイエス。綺麗なモデルさん多かったなぁ..。 ところが振り返ってみると、肌の質感や肉っぽい細 密描写よりも、たたずまいを描き出すことへの関心 が強かったようです。これもそのうちの一枚。 ６月、課題にバイトに忙しく、風景をスケッチする 時間がとれず、もどかしさを感じていた。雨に濡れ る紫陽花と、静かにポーズをとるモデルさんのイメ ージが重なって見えた。 April,1998 I became a university student. Tama Art Univ... abbreviated to "Tamabi." My specialty was oil painting. The fellow part-time workers asked me as I expected "In art university, you paint the nude, don't you?" The ansewr is yes. Models were beautiful.... But I was more interested in expression of their atmosphere than detiles of their skin. This is one of such paintings. In June, the model had paused quietly. Hydrageas had been in the silent rain. |
